Side (pronounced see-day) is a vacation town in Pamphylia, Mediterranean Turkey, and a classical historic site.
When it was opened to tourists in the 1950s, the town of Selimiye was renamed Side, after the Roman city that had stood on the settlement’s location. Today, Side is one of the few places in the world where you can physically view Ephesus-like well-protected Roman ruins and contemporary structures side by side.
