Nightlife in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a Mecca for pubs, bars, casinos, karaoke, and nightclubs once the sun has gone down in the sky.  The skyline is lit up and beacons all to come and play after a hard days work.

Entertainment Districts

There are three entertainment districts in Hong King.  Lan Kwai Fong is in central Hong Kong and is where most of the locals go after work.  Places here are trendy and fun.  Wan Chai near Causeway Bay has many bars and discos that are open until dawn.  Tsim Tsa Tsui in Kowloon caters to mostly locals.

Bars and Clubs

Bars and Pubs can be found all over Hong Kong and most have a great variety of beers and other alcoholic drinks from all over the world.  They are open 24 hours a day and will serve you when ever you want, but they come to life in the evening. There are English pubs, fancy lounges, and the less attractive types of bars in town.

Different Types of Clubs

Nearly all the hotels in town have night clubs where DJ’s regale guests with the greatest hits. There are two types of clubs in Honk Kong; the Western clubs and the Chinese clubs. If you are a tourist it might be better to go to a Western Club. Be sure you know the dress code before you go or you may not get in. It is also best to call and get your name on the reservation list before you go. Some are easy to get into while others it is impossible unless you know someone while others are accessible as long as you get there early.

The Karaoke craze hit Hong Kong and never left. There are many hotels, clubs, bars, and restaurants that have Karaoke night or they may have a private room where you can enjoy Karaoke. Often times the establishment will hire a professional singer to sing along with customers.

Many hotels and restaurants have live music from a piano bar to local rock bands. You can hear oldies and punk rock in the same neighborhood at different establishments and the variety goes on and on.

The Night Park

The Night Park in the Tsim Sha Tsui district is a popular place to go at night. This park is decorated with thousands of lights and many of them are neon. You have to see it to believe it. This is a good place to take an evening stroll and look at the sights.
